I don't really consider myself a wildlife photographer, but beautiful animals just kind of show up and demand to be photographed.

I was in Yosemite. It was overcast and the light was fading--it was also raining. I was about to call it a day when a family of five deer showed up and began grazing a few feet from me. I wrapped my camera in a towel that was handy, and took some shots with an 85mm lens. Yes, the deer were *close*. It was a tough shooting situation as animals move around and generally require fast shutter speeds, but it was also getting dark. If the ISO gets too high, it crushes the detail. This was 1/100th exposure at f/3.2, ISO 1250.

The purpose of this site is to show my work. The purpose of this blog, and especially the Photography Tips section is to share ideas and information. Feel free to browse around and I hope you find the tips useful. Thanks for visiting!
